March 7 work day

We worked 3+ hours at East End this morning. We had 11 volunteers – 5 community members and 6 core team. We continued clearing ivy and other ground cover off of plots and cut ivy off of trees. We cut up some fallen trees and checked out our lawn mowers and other equipment to make sure they are ready to tackle the growing season that is just around the corner.

I saw the story on pbs. I have a goat and she eats all the ivy, poison ivy, and other fast growing vines. I bet you could get a goat farm to “rent” goats to help clear this wonderful and important piece of history.

We have tried goats but they weren’t cost effective and also we had concerns about them damaging the non-stone grave markers.

Trying to find my mother’s Elaine Elaine Brown plot. She passed October 1980. The owner of this plot was Constance Bolden. I can be reached at 757 288 8936

    Thank You

Good morning. I just saw this message. We don’t have a record of an Elaine Brown buried at East End Cemetery. Do you have more information?
